History of The Firm Jones Kurth, Andrews & Ortiz, a professional corporation, was founded in 1990 by David Jones and Laurence Kurth. Prior to the forming of Jones Kurth, Andrews & Ortiz, David Jones and Laurence Kurth were partners in the San Antonio, Texas office of Fulbright & Jaworski, and Dan Andrews was an associate. All had considerable experience in the area of insurance defense, and enjoyed a strong reputation among insurance companies and major corporations for effective representation. In order to maintain the level of personalized service their clients desired, they felt it necessary to establish their own practice to directly address their clients’ needs. The Firm’s attorneys possess superior litigation skills, and exhibit unquestionable integrity. This accounts for the Firm’s enviable Martindale Hubble AV rating, and has led to rapid growth and the expansion of areas of specialization to meet the needs of its ever-widening client base. In 2000, the contributions of Ray Ortiz to the Firm were formally recognized by his addition to the Firm's name.
