Ray R. Ortiz

Ray R. Ortiz was born September 11, 1964 in Del Rio, Texas, and was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management in 1986. Mr. Ortiz attended the University of Texas School of Law and graduated in 1988. After graduating from law school, Mr. Ortiz served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Victoria, Texas until February 1993. Mr. Ortiz was admitted as a shareholder in Jones Kurth & Andrews in January of 1998, and he became a name shareholder in Jones Kurth, Andrews & Ortiz in 2000. He specializes in governmental liability, having handled a number of cases involving municipalities, counties, and school districts. Mr. Ortiz also serves as City Attorney for the City of Converse, Texas. Additionally, he has represented various clients in the private sector in a number of tort and First-Party cases.  Mr. Ortiz is also licensed in Oklahoma.
